Shockwave therapy may ease frozen shoulder pain, but lasting benefits remain uncertain

A BMJ review of 189 randomized trials finds extracorporeal shockwave therapy probably reduces short-term frozen shoulder pain, while manipulation under anesthesia may improve short-term arm flexion. However, most longer-term benefits, safety comparisons, and effects of other treatments remain uncertain.
